Frequently Asked Questions

Here is a list of questions and their answers. Please do get in touch if you have any other questions.

Where do I get my Registration Pack for the conference?

If you have notified us where you are staying for the conference (for example, the name of the hotel you are staying at for the weekend) then we will deliver your Registration Pack to that location during Friday morning, from where you can collect it.

The exception is for those staying in Milford on Sea, Lymington. Those delegates should collect their packs from the Bournemouth International Centre.

What if I have not told you where I am staying for the conference? Where do I collect my Registration Pack?

You can collect your Registration Pack from the desk in the Purbeck Foyer at the Bournemouth International Centre building.

Can I collect a Registration Pack on behalf of someone?

No unfortunately not. Only the person whose name is on the pack can collect their pack. (We do this to avoid confusion that may otherwise arise)

Are the Friday evening events separate? Can you attend the entertainment (free of charge) without taking the dinner? Or is the dinner the only way to see the entertainment?

Yes the two Friday events are separate and at different venues, so you can attend the entertainment free of charge at the BIC without having the dinner at the Hilton Hotel.

The Friday dinner is fully booked. If you would like to be added to the waiting list then contact Peter Wilkinson, the Registrations Officer.

There will be space for all delegates at the Friday entertainment at the BIC.

Is the Friday evening dinner at the Hilton Hotel open to delegates staying in other hotels?

The Friday dinner is fully booked. If you would like to be added to the waiting list then contact Peter Wilkinson, the Registrations Officer.

Is the Saturday evening dinner dance open to non-delegates?

No, sorry, it is not. The Saturday evening dinner dance is only open to conference delegates. Some may pay the full weekend rate of £70 (or £65) while others might register for the Saturday only at £45. This has been normal practice at most recent district conferences, and we do this because the Saturday evening price is subsidised by the main conference fee.

Is the Friday evening entertainment open to non-delegates?

This will be my first conference. Can you give me any tips?

We’re sure there will be some seasoned conference attendees in your club’s party so they will be able to share their experience with you. More details of the programme will be added to the website nearer to the event date. Above all else conference is meant to be fun, so come along and relax and enjoy, both the plenary sessions and all the social opportunities too.

What is the dress code for the conference and related events?

During the day it’s comfortable, casual dress, as is the Friday evening. For Saturday night our themed party is Gangsters & Molls so dress as you feel would be appropriate (20’s flappers, Oxford Bags etc?), (or a dinner jacket/lounge suit, with the ladies in evening wear).
